Queen of the Midsummer Night Pastry

Our dessert pastry is inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the baroque opera The Fairy Queen, which is based on the play and will be performed at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in summer 2025.

The splendor of the Baroque era lives in rich detail, the interplay of contrasts, drama and harmony. In this pastry, the deep sweetness and richness of chocolate meet the sharp, tart intensity of northern cranberries ripened under the midnight sun.

A moist chocolate cake base is topped with a luscious dark chocolate mousse, complemented by a tangy cranberry sauce made from locally foraged berries.

Available from June 30th to August 3rd.
The pastry is lactose-free and gluten-free.

Inkeritalo

The historically rich, renovated Inkeritalo is located on the shores of Kruunupuisto.

Inkeritalo serves as a meeting space and a private dining restaurant year-round. During the summer season, a summer café operates in Inkeritalo.

This atmospheric log house is an excellent place to host meetings, small family celebrations, birthdays, funerals, or evening gatherings. The house offers a unique ambiance for corporate events, Christmas parties, and ladies’ nights as well.

The charming two-story house can seat a total of approximately 80 people. There are four meeting rooms, each accommodating 12-25 people.

In the yard of Inkeritalo, there is a fully renovated 1920s log lakeside sauna. The sauna is available for our customers by reservation and is perfect for evening gatherings, as a meeting sauna in conjunction with Inkeritalo, or as an addition to Christmas parties.

Adjacent to Inkeritalo and the sauna is the Inkeritalo warehouse. The storage and stable building, renovated in the summer of 2018, is ideal for larger celebrations, with a terrace offering a stunning view directly over the clear waters of Pihlajavesi. The warehouse can accommodate about 80-100 people, and we organize events according to the customer’s wishes.

Tynkkylän Lomaniemi is a family-run business located in Punkaharju, by the home waters of the Saimaa ringed seal, offering café services and cottage accommodation. Tynkkylä Lomaniemi charms visitors with its stunning lake views and cozy countryside vibe.

During the Harvest Festival weekend, the yard comes alive with autumn harvest, local producers, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The scenic café serves up tasty treats, and outside you’ll find treasures from local entrepreneurs.

Peek inside the old barn – the 1860s building is home to a charming Folk Museum filled with objects brought from Karelia and traditional farm tools that tell stories of life past and present. Nearby, the textile crafts cottage showcases timeless handcraft skills in a warm and nostalgic setting.

Inkeritalo waffle cafe is a charming renovated log house right by the lakeshore. Cafe is open during holiday seasons in winter and summer serving waffles, coffee and refreshments. There is an art exhibition in the Inkeritalo cafe and music events during the summer season. Inkeritalo caters for special occasions all year-round. There is also a traditional Finnish log sauna right next to Inkeritalo. Sauna can be booked for private occasions only.

Punkaharju Paviljonki is a fabulous restaurant in the middle of the beautiful scenery of Punkaharju and next to Lake Saimaa. From two sides of the restaurant there is a clear view directly over the bright Saimaa. If it’s rainy and chilly, you can sit comfortably in front of the fireplace. Outside there is a covered terrace with approximately 130 comfortable seats, and right next to the water there are about 200 uncovered seats. There are also performers and karaoke nights at the restaurant. The dining room has conference facilities with modern technology and a breathtaking view over the lake. You can also rent a sauna and relax.

Café-Restaurant Harjun Portti is located in Tuunaansaari holiday village right next to Retretti train stop and highway 14 and it is a place with relaxed, local atmosphere and diverse services. Homemade lunch buffet from 11-14 (sunday 11.30-14) served every day, buffet where price meets quality. Buffet on weekdays 13,90 €, weekends & holidays 16,50 €.

Come and taste our great burgers, for example our famous Chef’s Burger, which is flavoured with roquefort-blue cheese and bacon-onion mix of the house. In á la carte there is often fried vendaces from lake Puruvesi as Fish of the day. The dishes are mostly made from local ingredients. A total of 120 seats in our restaurant and terrace with 90 seats.

We also bake our own sweet pastries in the café, welcome to a coffee break or to eat great food!
