The Finnish Forest Museum Lusto offers surprising insights and different perspectives of forests for all ages. The national museum responsible for forest culture is located in Punkaharju, in the midst of the most beautiful landscape of ridges and lakes in Eastern Finland. Lusto’s exhibitions and events provide a diverse and illustrative insight into the significance of forests in the life of Finns.
Tours are given in Finnish, English and Russian.
Museum Shop stocks mainly high-quality Finnish products related to the forest. The range includes ornamental and utility items, jewellery, toys, games, textiles, postcards and books as well as various theme products related to the special exhibitions. Admission tickets for Lusto’s exhibitions and events, as well as gift vouchers can be purchased in the shop. Lusto Shop accepts payments in cash or by credit card (Visa/Eurocard, Mastercard). Museum Shop is open during the museum opening hours.

Punkaharju Paviljonki is a fabulous restaurant in the middle of the beautiful scenery of Punkaharju and next to Lake Saimaa. From two sides of the restaurant there is a clear view directly over the bright Saimaa. If it’s rainy and chilly, you can sit comfortably in front of the fireplace. Outside there is a covered terrace with approximately 130 comfortable seats, and right next to the water there are about 200 uncovered seats. There are also performers and karaoke nights at the restaurant. The dining room has conference facilities with modern technology and a breathtaking view over the lake. You can also rent a sauna and relax.
The campsite has about 100 caravan spaces, most of them equipped with an electricity outlet. There is also a special field for tents. There are 58 camping cottages, 8 of them are equipped with sauna. The campsite has modern sanitary, sauna, maintenance and cooking facilities, a play area, a family friendly swimming beach, saunas by the lake, a sports field, a boat dock and sheltered barbecue facilities. Campsite is open year-round.

Our cottages are located some distance apart on the shores of Puruvesi. They offer stunning views of sunsets over the lake. Each cottage has a kitchen, toilet/shower room, bedrooms and a sauna. The private gardens are equipped with a barbecue. Our guests can also use a rowing boat for atmospheric fishing trips on the lake.

Naaranlahti offers a wide range of activities: fishing, horse riding, cycling, beach volleyball, photography, canoeing, boating and – last but not least – meeting our farm animals. We rent bikes, canoes, kayaks, SUP boards, fishing equipment and motorboats for hire. With its pristine waters, Puruvesi is an attractive location for boating and other water-based activities. Spending a day canoeing, rowing or riding a motorboat around the lake’s numerous islands makes for a memorable experience. A refreshing dip in the lake rounds off the day perfectly.
In winter, PuruvesiPolku’s 35 km cross-country ski trail invites visitors to enjoy the scenery on skis and, weather permitting, the frozen lake makes an excellent skating arena. You can hire skis and skates from us, along with snowmobiles for ice-fishing trips. You can also enjoy the surroundings on an atmospheric sled ride through a snowy forest with our Finnhorse.
In the autumn, you can enjoy a memorable evening trying out fishing with a gig. The experience is completed by the relaxing heat of our lakeside sauna.

Holiday Resort Harjun Portti is located in beautiful Tuunaansaari, Punkaharju, just 25 km from Savonlinna. We offer accommodation, restaurant and program services. Our well equipped and recently renovated cottages and villas provide a comfortable stay in an excellent location! Minihotel Topelius has twin rooms and rooms for 4 persons. There is a sauna and a minikitchen in each room. Kitchen is equipped with fridge, cooking plate, coffee maker, water kettle, microwave and a freezer. There is a balcony/terrace with a lake view in all rooms.
Twin room has two separate beds. Room for 4 persons has two separate beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room.
Stylish and modern building where you will sure like to stay. There’s two different rooms in Niemitupa. Both are 64 square meters and every room has beds for 2-4 persons. Every room has its own shower, toilet, kitchen and a TV. The area has also two saunas and one of the rooms has a fireplace. Ten meters from the building is a beach patio on the lake Saimaa. A grill and a rowing boat are also available for residents.
Motor boats, rowing boats, fishing equipments can be rented at summers. Other free time services include a beach volley field. And what would a trip to Finland be without a sauna? You can rent a beach sauna if you like. Younger ones can visit Mannila’s zoo of farm animals.

Café-Restaurant Harjun Portti is located in Tuunaansaari holiday village right next to Retretti train stop and highway 14 and it is a place with relaxed, local atmosphere and diverse services. Homemade lunch buffet from 11-14 (sunday 11.30-14) served every day, buffet where price meets quality. Buffet on weekdays 13,90 €, weekends & holidays 16,90 €.
Come and taste our great burgers, for example our famous Chef’s Burger, which is flavoured with roquefort-blue cheese and bacon-onion mix of the house. In á la carte there is often fried vendaces from lake Puruvesi as Fish of the day. The dishes are mostly made from local ingredients. A total of 120 seats in our restaurant and terrace with 90 seats.
