The Finnish Forest Museum Lusto offers surprising insights and different perspectives of forests for all ages. The national museum responsible for forest culture is located in Punkaharju, in the midst of the most beautiful landscape of ridges and lakes in Eastern Finland. Lusto’s exhibitions and events provide a diverse and illustrative insight into the significance of forests in the life of Finns.
Tours are given in Finnish, English and Russian.
Museum Shop stocks mainly high-quality Finnish products related to the forest. The range includes ornamental and utility items, jewellery, toys, games, textiles, postcards and books as well as various theme products related to the special exhibitions. Admission tickets for Lusto’s exhibitions and events, as well as gift vouchers can be purchased in the shop. Lusto Shop accepts payments in cash or by credit card (Visa/Eurocard, Mastercard). Museum Shop is open during the museum opening hours.

Punkaharju Paviljonki is a fabulous restaurant in the middle of the beautiful scenery of Punkaharju and next to Lake Saimaa. From two sides of the restaurant there is a clear view directly over the bright Saimaa. If it’s rainy and chilly, you can sit comfortably in front of the fireplace. Outside there is a covered terrace with approximately 130 comfortable seats, and right next to the water there are about 200 uncovered seats. There are also performers and karaoke nights at the restaurant. The dining room has conference facilities with modern technology and a breathtaking view over the lake. You can also rent a sauna and relax.
Farm House Mannila offers accommodation for every need from hotel rooms to camping and B&B. Hotel Rantakatti is surrounded by stunning Finnish lake scenery on the shore of Lake Saimaa. Prices include traditional countryside breakfast.
Café-Restaurant Harjun Portti is located in Tuunaansaari holiday village right next to Retretti train stop and highway 14 and it is a place with relaxed, local atmosphere and diverse services. Homemade lunch buffet from 11-14 (sunday 11.30-14) served every day, buffet where price meets quality. Buffet on weekdays 13,90 €, weekends & holidays 16,90 €.
Come and taste our great burgers, for example our famous Chef’s Burger, which is flavoured with roquefort-blue cheese and bacon-onion mix of the house. In á la carte there is often fried vendaces from lake Puruvesi as Fish of the day. The dishes are mostly made from local ingredients. A total of 120 seats in our restaurant and terrace with 90 seats.
We also bake our own sweet pastries in the café, welcome to a coffee break or to eat great food!
